This temple had live bats living everywhere in the rafters. In our culture they are kind of creepy but in the Chinese culture they mean blessings so they like them to live in their buildings.

This is a Muslim mosque. They let me go inside but women have to wear this robe to ensure that they are fully covered.

In their faith they have to come and recite all of their prayers 5 times a day! No matter what they are doing. So they have special schools that they send their kids to and they have to work at certain places so that they can take the prayer breaks at the appointed times. You can see on the carpet the spots where they kneel. And they always have to pray facing towards mecca. So this whole mosque is faced that way. And there are clocks everywhere in here so that they are praying at exactly all the appointed prayer times.

These are the royal graves. The tall one in the middle is the Sultan of Singapore who died in the 1820s. It is really one of the only historical sights Singapore has and it is in the middle of the city, totally unmarked and dilapidated. They are scheduled to rip out this whole grave yard in a few months to build yet another shopping mall. And its not just these graves there are hundreds and hundreds. Some historians are pleading with the government to leave it but to no avail. Sad huh...
